Hamlet; Ghost Machine takes place in the final moments of Hamlet’s life as he enacts, through echoes, repetitions, unfolding circles and patterns, his own rendition of the play The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. We, the audience, are nothing more than his vision but are implicated in this “image of a murder” all the same. In a setting that is equal parts Ellsinore, graveyard, morgue, and theatre Ghost Machine stretches Hamlet’s last breath, animates his final dream, and tracks the waning heartbeat of a man struggling for any last answers, illumination, and peace.

Conceived and performed by the Imaginists’ Brent Lindsay, this performance takes its text entirely from Shakespeare’s play in a ‘poem unlimited’ reconstruction.

Originally created in 2007 as a site specific piece for a slaughterhouse in Healdsburg, Hamlet; Ghost Machine has been performed over the last 3 years in selected site specific environments.

Seating is limited, please arrive at least 20 minutes early.  Door locks 5 minutes after show time, no admittance
