La División/The Divide es una obra de teatro original bilingűe
(Español/Inglés) acerca de las fronteras. Es la historia de la vida y la
muerte de una frontera en tres movimientos; la vida alegórica de la
frontera y lo que causa a las personas que estan conectadas con esta; es
un critíca de la realidad. Esta obra utilizó filme y actuaciones en
vivo para examinar el concepto de las fronteras y de crusar las
fronteras. La División fue creada por un reparto de miembros
comunitarios, facilitada y estructurada por los directores.

A bilingual community-based theater piece about borders

The Divide/La División was our second
community-based theater piece. It is the story of the
life and death of a border in three movements. The allegorical life of
the border and what it does to the people who encounter it is a
reflection of reality. This piece used film and live performance to
examine the concept of borders and crossing borders. The Divide
is a bilingual piece created by an ensemble of community members,
facilitated and structured through the directors.
The project was part of the countywide Performance Sonoma festival, coordinated by
the Arts Council of
Sonoma County and Community Foundation Sonoma County and funded by the
James Irvine Foundation. The festival will feature the
work of 12 diverse Sonoma County arts organizations on the theme of
"Crossing Borders."
