Community Performance Projects

We are committed to creating theater with our community and in partnership with local non-profit organizations.

These performance projects are an opportunity for members of our community to be directly involved in the process of creating theater on a relevant theme or issue. Gathering together people of different ages, backgrounds, and cultures, with theater professionals, we open dialogue with the entire community, encouraging creative voices, challenging stereotypes, and opening our minds and hearts to those in our own communities.

Community based theater is a movement with its roots in the history of American theater. From the Federal Theatre Project and early regional theater movement to the experimental and social theater of the 60's the idea of a "people's theater" has always influenced American artists.
